The Villas Parkmerced
When Carmel Development and Management acquired the 3,500-unit apartment complex at Parkmerced, its goal was to re-brand the site and facilities to attract an urban audience of new tenants, in addition to the core tenants of students and senior citizens. Huntsman was part of the master planning team for the re-branding of the complex. Along with the renovation of the administration building, our work included selecting the palette of colors for the exteriors, updating furnished model units and building lobbies, enhancing landscaping, and developing a new identity for Parkmerced. While being sensitive to the original 1940's aesthetic, Huntsman transformed the administration building into a fully functioning community center. The center now houses a rental office, management office, clubroom, lounge, fitness center, and media and entertainment rooms.
