The Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center
Working with Owner representative, Swinerton Management & Consulting, Huntsman Architectural Group provided architectural services for the seismic renovation and tenant improvements for the Salvation Army's main San Francisco distribution center. A two-story structure that includes a basement, the building is located in San Francisco's Mission District and was originally constructed circa 1888 as a factory. The perimeter walls are unreinforced masonry construction, and the roof's original portion is wood timber construction. The renovations also included an exterior restoration and modernization, materials and paint selection, window replacement and refurbishment, brick re-pointing, and building improvements for accessibility compliance. Huntsman provided services for a number of other San Francisco facilities and stores throughout the Bay Area.
