Palo Alto Civic Center
Built in 1968, the Palo Alto Civic Center is an 8-story concrete-frame high-rise consisting of 112,000 square feet. The City commissioned Huntsman and its team of engineers to conduct an infrastructure study to determine the present condition of the building systems and then to recommend upgrades to those systems to extend the useful life of the building for 30 years. The primary scope of work included an analysis of the building and garage ventilation systems, boilers, elevator equipment and electrical systems. Other goals of this project will include replacing the building’s original generator, determining upgrades or replacement of the life-safety system, improving energy efficiency, providing plumbing and piping other areas in conjunction with the infrastructure upgrades.
