Kentfield Residence
Located on a 40,000 square foot hillside parcel, goals for the renovation of this 1930s Arts and Crafts home were to unify and refine earlier renovations, increase living spaces to 3,000 square feet with a sensitive addition, and create a better connection to outdoor spaces and views.
The addition includes a master bedroom, kitchen and dining room as well as a new basement. New energy efficient, solid hardwood windows were added, and the home was re-clad in cedar shingles. The kitchen, dining area and butler pantries were modernized with high-quality custom cabinetry and fixtures. As series of new glass doors connect living spaces to an expanded exterior deck, grilling station, and renovated pool with direct views of scenic Mt. Tamalpais. Rainwater collection tanks supply new terraced herb gardens and drought-tolerant landscaping completes the outdoor experience. |
