Financial Services Firm
Having outgrown their space both physically and culturally this Financial Services Firm turned to Huntsman to both modernize and impart their current culture within their space. The design team's aim was to create a program that allowed for serendipitous interaction, while being flexible, multi-functional and efficient. Future-focused, the desired space needed to support evolving work styles and increased headcount. Guests are welcomed into a light-filled, multifunctional reception/conference area. Drawing inspiration from the building's architecture, the reception desk design follows the lines of the exterior, cross-bracing. Sophisticated and flexible, the conference center is anchored by a large conference room with 90-degree sliding doors that can be open or closed depending on client needs. The adjacent, open coffee bar is embellished with brass fixtures and a laser cut decorative screen allowing light to filter through the room. |
The collegial and collaborative program was built around spontaneous interactions. The café, located strategically at the top of the stairs, has counter and seated height tables to allow employee choice for work or social interactions. Accommodating the shift toward collaboration, the entire team sits on the same floor creating a sense of community and providing visibility on the floorplate. Communal tables and comfortable soft seating vignettes break up the workplace and serve to support team communication and movement throughout the space. One unique feature carried over from the previous space was the Library. The warmer lighting and comfortable seating make it a perfect setting for a quick conversation or a break from the open plan. Herringbone patterns, plaids and lush fashion textiles informed the design choices and support the sophisticated, modern feel in the space. Transformed, the timeless space now reflects their current culture and supports the way employees work today and into the future.
