Project Architects lead our technical teams through the complex process of developing documents, obtaining agency approvals, and coordinating with expanded project teams. What You Will Do
Partner (in-person and virtually) with the office's senior leadership - Principals, Designers, and Architects - to elevate design ideas, values, and standards
Participate (in-person and virtually) in marketing and business development including proposals, interviews, and PR efforts
Independently act as lead Project Architect and collaborate with Project Designers during all phases of project delivery for a variety of complex project types simultaneously
Manage small to mid-size project teams
Collaborate with Project Managers on mid- to large-scale projects
Lead, manage, develop, and coordinate technical documents, including Construction Documents
Lead document review and quality assurance / quality control process and provide in-person mentorship
Oversee job captain(s) and other technical team members
Perform in-person field surveys and evaluate existing interior space
Research, recommend, and specify appropriate materials, finishes, fixtures, equipment, hardware and other components and related technologies
Incorporate technical requirements including lighting solutions, audio/video, acoustics, power, and data systems into the design and documents
Interface (in-person and virtually) directly with clients, product representatives, fabricators, multidisciplinary consultants, general contractors, and agencies
Lead and coordinate agency approvals (in-person and virtually)
Participate in cost estimate review and overall design budget analysis and management
Act as project representative during Construction Administration, including in-person jobsite visits
Assist Project Managers in various administrative and team management tasks
Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ownership and accountability for project and firm-wide success
Excellent design creativity, aptitude, competence, and experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent people skills including inspirational and collaborative leadership
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative team-based environment
Advanced knowledge and experience in all phases of interior design / architectural project delivery
Advanced knowledge of state and local building and fire codes (including accessibility) related to interior environments is a must
Advanced knowledge and experience with feasibility studies, building infrastructure studies, and due diligence studies is a must
Advanced knowledge and experience with a variety of construction assemblies and building types particularly related to interior tenant improvements is a must
Initiate mentoring of junior staff within the office and at project site locations
Experience working in a Citrix environment is highly desired
Strong Autodesk Revit skills are a must
Enscape modeling skills are nice to have
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) skills are highly desired
Experience with Mural collaboration platform is highly desired
Office 365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills are a must
Hand sketching and conceptual drawing/modeling skills are a plus
Sustainable design experience, with a preference for hands-on LEED and/or WELL project participation
Understanding of corporate commercial real estate objectives is a plus
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture
12+ years of architectural experience with at least 7+ years of experience as lead Project Architect on commercial projects
Architectural licensure in New York required and licensure in additional states strongly preferred
WELL and/or LEED Accreditation strongly preferred
Candidates must have legal working status in the U.S. as Huntsman will not be sponsoring work visas at this time
Compensation, Benefits, and Perks
Compensation is based on relevant experience and qualifications. Salary for this role is estimated between $140,000 to $155,000 plus benefits
