Sustainability and Wellness
We believe creativity and environmental and social responsibility go hand-in-hand. At its core, successful design integrates principles of sustainability, wellness, and social impact with functional and aesthetic drivers. Our firm’s focus on maximizing the potential of existing buildings and on urban renewal and resource conservation clearly aligns with this paradigm.

Our work with the Presidio Trust in the early 1990's to establish sustainable design standards for interiors led to a pioneering role in the initial LEED Pilot Program. More recent efforts include commercial office projects seeking net-zero energy certification.

We have incorporated principles of The Living Building Challenge™ and Healthy Product Declarations (HPD) on our projects, with the goal of creating spaces free of materials known to be harmful to the environment and human health. We are also actively working on a number of projects seeking WELL™ certification.

We guide clients in balancing their business objectives with social responsibility through creative design measures that not only conserve and protect ecological resources, but also reinforce wellness and positive impact to the community.
