New Additions:
Owen Walker Joins Huntsman as Senior Job Captain of New York Office.
August 17, 2015

Meet Owen Walker.  With over 30 years of experience in the architecture and interior design profession, Owen
Q: What skillsets do you feel sets you apart?

OW: The ability to see the solution before there is a problem. To see and envision the end result of a project before its taught out and completed. I want to think I have a sharp eye for details.

Q: What are some of your current projects, and what interests you about them?

OW:

Q: What skillsets do you feel sets you apart?

OW: It's really about slowing down enough to truly listen and facilitate communication. Most people just want to be treated with respect and know that their efforts are honestly valued. Don't get me wrong; patience is often my best friend, and the iron fist is not far behind.

Q:  What is an example of a time that you were successful against the odds or particularly unique challenges?

OW: A long-standing client came to us with a real estate and construction problem that needed resolution within a month. Our architectural team tackled the design and construction documentation in concert with the general contractor hitting the target date for move-in. Mission accomplished and another trusty client under our belt.

Q: Describe some of your most important career accomplishments.

OW: I was one of the architects on the US architectural team to design and prepare the nine stadium venues around the country, including one at Stanford University, for FIFA and the 1994 World Cup.  Your enthusiasm working on the project is sustained and fueled by the fact that 24 countries are participating and watching the games being held here.

Another proud accomplishment was receiving the Best of Competition award in the IIDA National Design Awards for the San Francisco office project for The Capital Group.  Nothing quite compares to being acknowledged by your own peers.

Q: What is one project or assignment that you feel most proud of?

OW: That would be the law offices of Weil, Gotshal & Manges in Menlo Park.  The project won the Interiors Award of Honor for the AIA/SF Chapter Interior Design Award and the American Bar Association Law Office Design Competition.

Q: What are some of your goals here at Huntsman?

OW: One of my goals is to promote Huntsman's expertise and flexibility on various project types and to realize the project opportunities from schedule, scope, and cost for our clients. I enjoy helping people fulfill their dreams and goals by providing a clear and steadfast path.
