1999 Harrison Street
In updating and refreshing the lobby and exterior plaza of 1999 Harrison Street, the design concept alludes to natural elements from neighboring Lake Merritt and Snow Park. The architectural design introduces a more activated environment furnished by new touchdown spaces and wireless connectivity. The addition of a water feature and architectural sculpture enhances the experience throughout the lobby. Updated finishes, new LED lighting for energy efficiency, and natural materials, which take a cue from the view through the expansive curved glazing, are intended to both soften and humanize the lobby. The centrally relocated reception desk provides better visibility for guests entering the building and visual access for security staff. Wooden benches, modernized exterior lighting, and landscaping will be installed along the promenade at the lobby’s North access point acting as inviting parklets. The aim is to create a more attractive retail entrance environment which forms a bridge between the building, park, and lake.
