Scudder Weisel
Private Wealth Management
Office Design
San Francisco, CA
In the new Scudder Weisel office, the overall goal of the design was to encourage
interactivity. Visitors arrive in a formal reception area and travel through
the main workspace on their way back to the conference room. From this they
gain firsthand experience of the firm’s collaborative work environment. Private
offices are transparent with glass walls and sliding panels. The panels are
closed when privacy is required, but remain open to encourage interaction
between employees; desks in the open area were kept low to foster communication
and maintain sightlines. These offices were placed away from the windows to
provide everyone with vistas of the San Francisco skyline.
