Office Design and Branding
San Francisco, CA
Moody’s KMV is a leading provider of quantitative credit analysis tools to lenders, investors and corporations.
With this move to Foundry Square, Moody’s KMV consolidated its San Francisco and Walnut Creek locations in order to share resources,
increase efficiency, and create a unified presence for the firm.
As part of the building's sustainable design, an atrium courtyard allows natural light to permeate through the interior spaces around the main corridor.
Huntsman designed spaces around the atrium that the client refers to as a "town square." The placement of departments around the square orients staff to key office functions.
The interior design relies heavily on the use of glass and an aluminum wall system that ties in the existing building architecture.
Flanking the north side of the square are the reception and lobby to greet visitors as they enter from the elevators.
The design incorporates walnut flooring along the "main streets" of the office, which defines primary circulation and helps break down the scale of the large floor plate.
A turquoise glass-tile wall anchors one side of the lobby where conference rooms begin.
Open offices are located just north, west and south of the main street.
Situated on the west side of the square, conference rooms feature a Mondrian-style wall system of colored glass to diffuse light into the interior, yet still provide privacy for meetings.
The subtle color-coding helps define "neighborhoods" along the main street and square.
On the square's east side, a smaller conference room and a hoteling center provide private teaming and meeting areas alongside an intimate lounge.
South of the town square, a 60-foot wide wall covering features an abstraction of the Moody's KMV logo and becomes a focal point along the circulation.
