WR Hambrecht + Co, an innovative financial services firm based in San Francisco, commissioned Huntsman to design their new and interim headquarters, along with several regional branch offices serving the East and West Coasts. Huntsman was responsible for developing design standards for WR Hambrecht’s multiple offices located in Boston, New York, Seattle and San Francisco. The design team worked closely with local architects for coordination with local codes and jobsite oversight. Because all five projects were designed and contracted simultaneously, the client took advantage of the project’s overlap, to develop a strong, consistent identity and apply that to each of the offices. Their desire was for visitors and employees to recognize the WR Hambrecht brand. The primary component of this identity was the development of furniture and finish standards. A basic color palette was established for use in all locations, with some variety that took regional differences into account.
