Fillmore Capital Partners
Office Design
San Francisco, CA
In developing the design of a new office for Fillmore Capital Partners, Huntsman made it a goal to transform a relatively small space into an expansive suite that reflects the look of a reputable investment firm. With the opportunity to move into the Embarcadero Center, Fillmore realized another goal: to bring in as much daylight as possible and capture sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay, North Beach and Telegraph Hill. This goal was achieved through the use of transparent and reflective materials, bringing the outside indoors. Visitors enter into an open lobby overlooking a glazed boardroom framed by a scenic view of the Bay. A glass-tile niche along one edge of the lobby projects the eye through the boardroom to the view. Inside the boardroom, the niche transcends into a built-in sideboard. Above the niche, a collection of vintage concert posters from the Fillmore Theater (where the firm coins its name) are nestled in individual alcoves. Left of the lobby, the main artery of the office separates open workstations from enclosed teaming areas. Cork flooring and a steel ceiling system define the corridor, creating a layer between the two different work environments.
