Sofinnova Ventures, a San Francisco firm historically affiliated with France’s oldest venture capital company, decided to relocate their offices to downtown’s Union Square. Huntsman was given the challenge of designing a space that would be appropriate for a forward thinking company investing in the information technology and life sciences industries. The client wanted to retain the open loft-like feel of the space, yet provide enclosed offices for the partners. Huntsman developed a sustainable design that allows natural daylighting and downtown views to pass through private offices through extruded polycarbonate and reach the central lobby and administrative spaces.
