300 California Street
Building Renovation
San Francisco, CA
In an effort to attract technology firms to San Francisco’s Financial District,
the owners of 300 California retained Huntsman to help reposition their property’s
image. The design team assisted the owner in developing a strategy for upgrading
the lobby and common areas that focused on key areas of improvement to maximize
the project budget. Instead of reconfiguring the entire exterior, the architects
created a focal point at the street level with a dramatic new entrance and
lobby. The renovation also involved comprehensive life safety and building
systems upgrades. The lobby interior features exposed concrete, steel panels,
black terrazzo floors, and the original art deco elevator doors. The building
was fully leased after the renovation was completed.
