Seismic Retrofit and Building Renovation

This unreinforced-masonry building, which houses the Ira and Leonore Gershwin Trust, underwent a complete seismic retrofit and base building renovation. Huntsman designed the rehabilitation of the historic exterior, which included a new storefront. A new exit staircase, hydraulic elevator and new MEP infrastructure were added to the interior's three floors and basement. Renovations to the sidewalk included specialized waterproofing to protect the Gershwin Trust archives vault, located just below street level.
