The Montgomery Condominiums
74 New Montgomery
Residential Adaptive Re-use
San Francisco, CA
The 74 New Montgomery project is a conversion of an historic high-rise office building into one-hundred and seven residences. A new penthouse level with common outdoor space and four luxury modern residential units will also be added to the building. Huntsman has worked closely with the developer and land use attorneys and the San Francisco Planning Department to develop an appropriate design solution for this visible landmark located in the heart of the business district. The project included an aggressive entitlement and approvals process including both planning Commission review and approval as well as Landmarks Advisory Board review and approvals. The project includes a seismic retrofit and complete renovation of the building's interior and all building systems. The residences incorporate contemporary interiors, and a variety of residential products ranging from junior one bedrooms to two bedroom plus residences. The project has received full support from the San Francisco Urban Research and Planning Institute and San Francisco Heritage and approval from the Landmarks Commission.
