Seismic Retrofit

Huntsman is working with Rutherford & Chekene Engineers to assist UC Santa Cruz with the seismic retrofit of Hahn Hall Student Services Center. Hahn Hall is a two-story, timber-frame structure on a concrete podium. The retrofit involves adding a plywood diaphragm, adding shearwalls and strengthening the existing perimeter beam to column connections. The architectural services include coordinating collateral work associated structural upgrades as well as interior finish enhancements and minor interior alterations. Huntsman also interfaced with the Fire Marshall and DSA to ensure code compliance for life-safety and accessibility.
