Caltrans Northern California Headquarters
Campus Master Plan and Infrastructure Study
Sacramento, CA
The California Department of General Services selected Huntsman for an infrastructure study to determine the renovation work required for the long-term occupancy of Caltrans’ headquarters at 1120 N Street in Sacramento. The goals of this study are to provide the State with an assessment of the existing complex, provide recommendations to correct code and performance deficiencies and to extend the useful life of the facility. The headquarters is a complex of three six story office buildings constructed between 1936 and 1960.
As a result of the study, Huntsman developed proposed additions to the campus such as a new atrium to connect buildings and a new auditorium. A secondary function of this study was to provide data to be used in the Master Plan of the Headquarters Division office needs, including potential swing space needs as a result of the recommendations made.
