Formerly a semiconductor fabrication facility for Texas Instruments, 2300 Delaware is comprise of a two-story, steel-framed office building and a one-story semi-conductor manufacturing plant. To aid UC Santa Cruz in its decision to acquire the facility, Huntsman with a team of engineering consultants performed a due diligence that examined the architectural, structural, civil, mechanical and electrical building systems and environmental conditions of the site. After purchasing the property, UCSC then hired the team to design a seismic retrofit so the University could develop the 230,000gsf complex for office use and future laboratory space.
